People Who Tell me How Sorry They Feel For Me
I feel sorry for you. If you knew what true love was you would be more envious that I had it then sorry.

When a guy hits on me and I inform him I'm a widow.
Besides his facial expression, I've even had men laugh at that comment. Not a joke guy, but I cherish how crappy you must feel.

"Supposed" friends who you later find are either liars or thinking they'll get laid.
Kudos to you and whoever embedded in your mind that a mourning woman was easy access! Where can I buy the book that taught you that? Really?

Family that stop's speaking to you when you won't give them "recognition" for your husband's death.
Sorry, I guess I never knew "recognition" equaled money. I based it on the love he showed me….you, I guess, base it on Ben Franklin.

Old buddies who totally ignore the fact that you are a widow, let alone married.
Note to Y'all: It doesn't make it any better guys. You can't erase facts to make yourself feel more comfortable around me.

How for the next 30+ years I will be, "Too young to be a widow!"
And too good for you……and to ever wanting to not be one

And Most of all: If I have to laugh about the above, then I'll be laughing for a while. My surroundings, the date, the seasons….all may change, but some people won't.
